Very cool photograph Jonathan, really like the wingspread, format and head position. The photograph is also sharp in all the right places, well done!

Reading your description it seems to have worked well. Beautiful bird, lovely wing spread, perfect background, complimentary perch... lovely image all around. Thank you for sharing, Jonathan.

Hello Jon,
A very attractive pose from this Linnet and I love the positioning of the wings. Lovely colours, sharp where needs be. I like the framing and presentation overall.
A small nit, hope you do not mind: there's a tiny bothersome spot just above the left wing of the bird, where the shoulder begins - could be due to sharpening, easy fix for you.
Thank you so much for sharing, I enjoyed viewing, very much
Kind regards,

Looks like your technique worked. Neat pose with the wide open wings. Good BG. Subject is sharp as posted. I do see the mark Gabriela mentions, and I do wish the longer upright twig was either not there or at least dark like the rest of the perch. Good work though, I like the image a lot.

Thanks very much everyone, only just noted that fault, I think I know the reason - (probably due to innacurate masking and the use of Nik filter).
