    Default Salton Sea, mini style

I did this mini-world a long time ago, but I don't think I ever posted it. It is a cabana at the Salton Sea at sunset made into a tiny planet. In this one, I removed the radial lines that the process leaves around the outside of your polar world. Sometimes I leave those as part of the art and sometimes I remove them.

I love how the little cabana sat on top by itself. The black texture at the bottom balances it out. I think the decision to remove the radial lines was good because they would compete with the central image in this case.

The colors are great. The clouds add a lot, and so do the lights. While the dark shape within the inner circle is interesting, it adds weight to the top of the image. I wonder about lightening it with Content Aware fill and maybe a reduced opacity overlay of one of the colors from the image.

I like the inner orange glow fading into the blues, and the quirky balance of the silhouetted cabana on top providing a bit of tension! Those 2 opposing light posts make me think of the balance bar a tight rope walker uses. They are just lightly holding this sphere in balance!

    Kerry,

Greetings. What's been said above... the lights, the cabana, the clouds. Very cool. Thanks for posting.

    Cheers,

I like that I can tell what the original image was of. Lovely colors. Nicely done.

I agree with Nancy, the inner glow is beautiful. But what's most striking to me here is the perfect left-right symmetry. Thanks for sharing, Kerry!
