It's rookery nesting time again here in Florida. Most of the roseate spoonbills are already sitting. This image was taken out on the Hooptie Deux with Capt. James Shadle.

Looks like a mean beak Marina ! Great "doing something" shot with great colours. May be colour blind but it looks good to me
A little of something in the BG would suit me but no big deal.

Nice plumage, nesting material, down wing stroke. Great stuff. Spring is in the air. TFS.

Hi Marina, great flying pose showing the full downstroke of the wings. I do like the colours on these guys, and the nesting material adds interest. Sometimes we just have to take a sky BG, but its the art of capturing our subjects perfectly that counts.

Marina don't mind the bird against the sky this is where they spend a lot of there time, colours look good and the red eye stands out very well, nesting material adds interest to the image, fine looking flight shot.

Good flight shot, with downwing position, and the nesting material is a bonus. Lovely colors. My only wish would be for the stick to be at a different angle so the bill could be seen better.

Great wing position and flight angle Marina. The pink against the blue sky is beautiful and the added bonus of the nesting material is awesome. Nice work. Was this a recent on the Hooptie Deux?

Beautiful early morning light on this Spoonbill. As others have said, the IQ, light, wing position and stick all make this a real keeper. I was also wondering if this is from a recent trip, as I've run into a couple of people who have had trouble contacting Capt. James Shadle for a trip to the Alafia Banks.

Any time you or anybody else you know wishes to get in touch with James or go out with him to the rookeries, please just get in touch with me. He has been going out regularly. He's not the best at communicating and I often help facilitate setting up his trips!
In fact, if you are interested in getting out to the Alafia, he has space on Saturday, April 30th, assuming the weather is good.
