This is another image from my trip to the Isle of May. The bird was nesting on a cliff opposite from the cliff, I was on.

Love the comp on this one Will. The bird stands out great against the rock BG. Didn't realise they nested so early.
One of your best I reckon.

Thanks for that John. I reckon that piece of red copper wire was placed on the nest intentionally, as they like to 'decorate'

I,ve come back to this one a couple of times. The handling of the darks is in my opinion(humble as it is) just great.

Lovely setting. Exposure is spot on and very nice details showing on the subject. I especially like the wings that appear to have large scales

This image is really working for me. I just LOVE nesting images and this one is special. Your exposure throughout, esp the bird, looks spot on. The bird's crest and head show up so well. There nest is expertly laid out, wire and all. You have it all here.

I like everything here William and to my eye it is one of your best. The exposure on the bird is spot on, as is the colour of the bird and IQ. I like also that the bird is not imaged as the ubiquitous caricature that cormorants and shags seem to present (though nothing wrong with such images). It is just refreshing to see the bird looking quite casual.

Very nice Will. Agree with everything that has been said by others. The only thing that slightly spoils it for me is the black area top left, but there was not much you could have done about that.

Hi Will, you have absolutely nailed the exposure on the Shag, as one can see a variety of different hues of green. Lovely eye, raised crest, and you even managed a great HA too. Well captured.
