    Default Common Potoo, another pose

Here's another look at the Potoo. While I was watching him through the lens, I saw him look up and open his beak. I hoped maybe he was hawking an insect that I could catch in the flash, but no such luck. Anyway it made for an interesting pose.

Certainly got it's eye on something Bill but to catch an insect would have made your day,do prefer the eye on this one to your last post perhaps just the angle it's at,once again very well done getting this.

I just looked at the previous image, Bill. Both look pretty cool. Never seen one posted before never mind in real life

Hi Bill, great flash work here, as you have brought out the colours so well. The bird blends in nicely with the perch too.

Great captures on both Potoo images. Well worth the effort to get that close given the tall dried grasses you had to push through. Like the intense look and beak open.

Great looking capture of a really unique bird Bill. The flash looks nice and not to harsh and the pose and feather details are fantastic but the main event is that killer eye. I'm sure it can see as clear as day in the darkness of the jungle night. Great find.
