    Redpoll
One of the few we,ve had this year in the garden. This one turned up in a hazel bush in the garden. Grabbed a couple of shots through the window. I liked the BG in this one. I think a"messy" one can sometimes work.
I could crop a bit off the top but wanted to leave the bud in. WDYT

Love the pose on this little guy. The bird is nice and sharp which separates it enough from the BG, IMO. I like the comp and agree with leaving the bud. I might have liked to see a bit more of the bottom left twig, to complete the curve.

    Thanks Bill
I think there is a tiny bit more I can get on. Just noticed the bright curvy twig in the centre too
    Will have a play

Hi John, These little Redpolls are so sweet... we've just had a couple visit us this year as well. Great detail on the bird and neat pose too. I also prefer the RP.

    Thanks Sandy.
Yes they are delightful little birds. We used to have dozens in the garden in the winter. So many that friends came from affar to photograph them. Then all of a sudden they stopped comng and this year we had virtually none. Hard to believe they are the same size as a Blue Tit.
    Cheers
    John
