Well, having had this leopard sighting in the Kalahari earlier this year, and seeing where she preferred to lie up, it's no wonder it took me 7 years to spot one in this area!

Just a fun shot to show you how well they blend in - anywhere!

    Nikkor 400mm f2.8G VR

    Dear Morkel,

I spent about the same amount of time looking for leopards at this location...I too saw none, until Feb 2016...Would love to know, is this our boy, Masego?

Those caves up there...Been scouring them diligently twice a year, every year, since 2009. This year we were lucky to find Masego climbing among the rocks, he blended so well with the landscape that soon we lost him, only to find him again the next day, climbing trees and strolling about in search for food.

Enjoyed this so much, brought back fond memories, thank you for sharing

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

    Hi Gabriela
It's Masego indeed - although Masego is in fact a female leopard

Morkel - It does make you wonder how many times you drove by without spotting the spots! Interesting to see.

Whew, a surprise! Thank you Morkel. I was convinced it was a male - must be the name, resonates of a boy to me:)

    Have a lovely day,

Hi Morkel -- Very interesting image ! It makes the viewer feel how difficult it is to spot these big cats , they are so well camouflage as always , loved the settings and the execution . We have a similar place in India caleed as Bera in the State of Rajasthan with lots of leopards , a documentary had been shown NG or Discovery recently . If not seen by you people then I would recommend it highly , a very interesting documentary.

    TFS !

Hi Morkel interesting image showing how well they are camouflaged in the KTP .
Like the comp and the overall look & feel to this image .
I would like to know how many people have past without getting notice of this cat .
Thanks for sharing this one ...
