    Egret. My first attempt at flight stuff (maybe my last)
    IQ not brilliant but at least the birds in mid air !!
    Taken from Snipe hide.
    D7100
    Sigma 50-500mm
    1000 ISO
    500 sec @f8
    80% of frame. Neat image /levels. Few white feathers taken out of BG

    And a very nice result. The light worked well on the whites, and your ss provided a good motion blurred BG. All I might do, John is remove the light blobs just above you signature, near his beak, and the middle right edge.

    Thaqnks Geof- yes the camera was set for snipe and this thing suddenly came in from the left- no time to change settings. Until I get some practice !!
    Will take your points re the light reflection spots in hand shortly.

    Hi John, you got a great capture here. I think a faster shutter speed would give the bird a sharper look. Not easy is it ? . I like the pose on the bird. I saw one up here last week, pretty scarce here, still no breeding birds in Scotland.
