Beautiful bird, nicely shown. Wonderful capture and timing to show the crab. As many times as I have been there I have yet to photograph this bird, a nemesis for sure. Maybe tomorrow will be different, leaving early morning to go there. Thank you for sharing, Gail.

Awesome. The lighting is great and the crab "mid-air" really puts it over the top.

I keep looking back at the image and I keep changing my mind about the orange leaf (?) on the lower left side. Sometimes I'd clone it out, then a few minutes later I actually like it.

Great capture love the light and crab.
I would probably take just a sliver off the top to clean up the dark edge of the frame but that's nitpicking.

What a great timing! Nice IQ, light and composition too. I'd sharpen the head slightly less. Beautiful shot, Gail.

Excellent pose and details, sharpness is good and light is sweet. I wish you had used a higher ISO and faster SS to get the crab a bit sharper

Hi Gail, love the low perspective, and that light is simply exquisite, which has brought out the colours on the Curlew nicely. Very well timed to have the crab between the long beak, and I do like that OOF BG too. Well captured.
