Excellent flight image. I have never had decent light doing fulmars e4xcept when they were a long way off. I'm glad the birds played ball.

Great flight shot of a not often seen bird! Love that slight head turn toward you. Nice muted light for this bird.

Well done Will. You;re getting this flight stuff sorted.

Lovely looking natural feather detail Will, that 500mm with the 1.4 certainly produces some great results.Agree with Marina about that nice light.

Hi Will, excellent wing position here, and love the feather detail. Interesting looking beak, overall well exposed, and I do like the soft light. Well captured.
-
Terrific soft light. Great head turn and wing position. Very well done.

hi Will, a very simple Luminosity mask brings back so much detail into this image, however I'm glad to see you are enjoying the 1DX, it's a fantastic camera and you will nail those captures now, as you can forget low SS with that ISO, otherwise it's a recipe for some images. Like the D4, it is a superb camera, just enjoy.
BTW just watch the sharpening halo around the lower half of the body all round.

The soft light has really helped this image shine.
Great full wings down position and nice to see the slight head turn.
I see a slight halo under the bird's chin and belly. Easy fix.
Nice to see the bit of blue in BG.

Nice image, Will. Studying it closely especially the bill/beak having never seen one before. Thank you for sharing.
