    Default Fluffed up Woodie

Love this time of the year and will spend untold hours the next month or so shooting breeding wood ducks.

Lovely ducks for you to work with Joe,this is a very nice clean simple image which I like a lot,water/Bg make a perfect setting for this fine looking duck.

Hi Joe , lovely wood duck in a pleasing setting .
Overall i think you drop the exp a tiny bit , the whites do look a bit hot to my eyes .

Lovely image Joe. Looks like a good subject to work with. I like the detail on the duck along with the nice BG.

A pleasing image but it needs a fair bit of CW rotation. The rock behind the bird is a bit unfortunate. Your balance with exposure is about right.

Hi Joe, I like the relaxed pose, and the show of the various colours these guys have. Another vote for CW rotation, and I would maybe ease off on the sharpening of the finer beige plumage, its starting to look a touch on the crunchy side.

Hey Joe, just curious, do you use a hide. My woodies are incredibly skittish.

A very nice pose from this fluffed up woodie. Good comments above: whites are at 255 in places, sharpness on the edge of crunchy. All easily fixed. I might also warm it up just a tad. Wish I had a ready supply of friendly Wood Ducks.

    Thanks for the input guys.

The rock behind the bird is not unfortunate. It's one of several perches I put there to get the ducks up out of the water, this one happens to be a floating log.

I wish they were friendly Bill they are wild and skittish as can be.They ain't no park or zoo ducks. Without the silent shutter mode on the 5DIII or 7DII I would not get a 1/4 of the shots that I do and even then on calm days they still flinch and move off.

Right now I'm using the new Lenshide quite a bit but also use a ghillie and sometimes popup blinds depending on the setup.

Iphone pic of this mornings setup.

Nice setup; puts my kwikcamo to shame. I didn't mean to suggest that you weren't working at it.
