We call them English Partridges in my part of the world but perhaps known as Grey in other parts.

Hi Keith, this is a corker, great light and the intensity of the colour is super, just looked at the stones, think you have nailed it. Cool POV and as Karl said, 'nice pose looking back'. I also like the crossed legs, a lovely 'Countryside' image here Keith, but I am fond of the red Legged for the pot, I might add.

Techs look good and keeping that ISO up for good SS, like it. If I was to be critical, I might lose one or both strands of 'shrub' on the RHS for a cleaner image.

Beautiful light, Keith. I agree with Steve's suggestion about the OOF taller grass. Would be nice to have one of this on a pear tree for Christmas cards. Haha.

So often we hear the expression "it's all about the light", well this image noo exception but in addition to the lovely light you have caught the partridge in a really appealing pose. Great image I like it very much.

Excellent light quality you had here. Good look-back pose, and I like the raised "heel". I agree about the two longer strains in upper right corner, and I would add to that the pale oof line just above the neck/shoulder area.

Another name for this species that I often hear is Hungarian Partridge.

Thanks Will, selfish I know but going to hang onto any sunshine.Dan think the name is decided by the country the bird lives ,this shot was taken late summer and the birds just starting to moult hence the scruffy neck,will look for some in better condition this year.

Hi Keith this is one stunning frame !!!!!
For me your best so far , love the golden light and the overall comp / crop .
Well processed and the colors are stunning , you pretty much nailed this one .
I might try to look for the HL and give them a bit more tone ... if they are not blown or borderline to be blown .

Hi Keith, sweet, sweet light, and love the semi look back pose. The light in turn has brought out the colours so well, together with the feather detail. Comp wise, I would maybe take a little off the RHS to create a better looking vertical, and cant help thinking, looking at the ground, the image needs a bit of CCW rotation.
