I like the combination of subdued color with the toned black & white. Great combination of colors, too. The uneven white border with reduced opacity is a nice effect but I'd subdue the effect on the right side to it's more like the one on the top. It's a very nice image, though.

Gorgeous effect!! Beautifully suited to the hazy (early morning?) scene.

Cheryl, I love seeing Venice through your eyes! The Analog border creates the perfect mood for this image!

Anita, your elimination of the tower on the right allowed me to see something I'd missed earlier. We've had a number of good images with converging elements recently, at least one of them being yours. The lamp posts, the buildings in the background, and the lines on the pavement all converge to a vanishing point in the lower right, and I like that. To further emphasize it, I eliminated the column on the right because it interrupted the converging lines. However, I do like that column a lot on its own merits, and it acts as a stopper on the right side. Without the column, the Analog Efex effect on the right side functions very nicely as a stopper and doesn't compete with the column, so I think it's a very effective element at full strength when the column isn't there. (With the column, I'd wondered about toning it down some.) Having said all that, I prefer the image with the column.

I love your Orton effect and point of view on this one. I like Anita's and Dennis' versions also. I think I like Anita's crop but needs a frame of some sort on the right.
