When I took this photo of the house wren I didn't quite understand how to correctly use fill flash on my 40D (not to imply that I know what I'm doing now!). I had the C.fn set to sync at 1/250. As a result, the background is overexposed. Now I set the sync to Auto and the flash to High Speed Sync

I kind of like the high key look, but would appreciate your C&C. Also wonder whether more pruning and cleaning up is needed.

    Thanks for looking.

I also thought of moving the bird to the upper right corner, but that seemed to leave a lot of space on the left.

I rather like the high key look too and I certainly like the position of the bird. Looks like something isn't matching up well, line and color lower mid left?

There is something there Nonda !!!

Kent for you flash is easy to bracket. Take three images in rapid succession. The first will be the full flash setting, for the second the capacitor will not charge fully and will be somewhat less with the third being zero fill probably.

For this bird I like lower right placement since he is looking in that direction. I do like high key images but not for the little birds. Nothing wrong with it just personal taste. I do like the singing pose very much with the slight head turn !!!

Thanks, Nonda. I messed up some pruning I did down there. This should be an improvement -- I hope!
