    A slightly damp Rufous-vented Chachalaca photographed during a tropical rain in Tobago a few weeks ago. A lifer for me. C&C welcome.

    D4S, Nikon 500mm + 1.4 TC, 1/2500s, f 7.1, ff, ISO 2000, Gitzo tripod, Wimberly Gimbal head.

    Nice capture, Geoffrey. Great to have a lifer. A vertical with or without the twig would work better IMO.
    Here is one with the twig.

    Nice look at this noisy bird. I agree with Karl that the comp is better without the leaf (IMO).

    The bird looks fine but the spikey branch does not add to anything and cramps the bird. Nice lifer!

    Have woken to the sound of Chachalaca's a few times on Tobago.....wonderful island.
    I agree with others regarding the stem, vertical is better and you have a nice clean background.
