A very smart looking bird, and of course great IQ. Was it breezy? I get that impression from the pose.

Very well seen and executed. Is that white spot near the eye particular to this individual or a species feature?

What a super portrait you have here, Arash. It's nice to see you posting something other than BIF, although I love those as well. Your BG is super, you made the perch work and I love all those feather details!

Hi Ari, lovely angled pose, and I like the ruffled feathers and semi raised crest. The colours stand out nicely from the darker BG.

Composition nicely balanced and the details, colours all look good, and the bird stand out well against the background. The only problem for me (and it is minor) is that the bird is slightly awkwardly perched.

Ihtisham, all king fishers have the white spot

Thanks Colin, the ruffled feathers were just from the KF getting ready to dive.

Great IQ as expected, and I love the way the feathers are falling over that lovely perch, no nits from me at all.

Great shot, and I appreciate someone else HH at 1200mm. Great sharpness, HA, and love the color and texture of the bird. Maybe a little contrast mask around the face and eye.
