    Default Peregrine Falcon (male)

This is a full frame image of Manchester's male urban peregrine falcon. The image was made on the day the bird's chicks were ringed on top of a high rise building last year. The light was very dull and the conditions extremely windy.

Sadly, last week this bird ended up in a cavity from which it was not able to escape from. By sheer luck the bird was spotted by a builder who retrieved the bird which was eventually taken to a rehab centre in Rochdale. It was uninjured but was starving. The bird was fed and later released on Thursday so that it could get back to the business of breeding. I hope the episode has not affected its ability mate successfully this year.

Very nicely done. Good underwing detail. And sharp. You might wish to move him forward a bit in the frame.

Beautiful bird, and thanks for sharing the story about its rescue. Techs look good, and I agree in moving it forward in the frame (at least doubling the amount of space behind the near wing and edge of frame).

Hi Adrian, I do like the wingspread here, and well exposed on the underwings. Overall sharp, and I like how the Falcon pops against your high key BG. Having a bit more space on the left wont harm the image.

Interesting story Adrian,- and a good shot to go with it.
I agree abiout the positioning others have mentioned but still looks OK as is to me.Would be good with a really OOF Manchester building as a back drop !!

I saw on the Manchester Birding site the story behind this bird, so nice one for the work, and as well deserved reward in this frame.

Good high key exposure and details, I would also put a bit more space around him. I wish the peregrine had a more dynamic pose here.

I like the details, sharpness and exposure. I would also have a little more space behind the tail. Very well done under challenging conditions Adrian.
