    Not only a robin but enough sun for a shadow! Greenery, too. I like what you captured and the processing, but I'd like the robin to stand out some from the upper half of the background. A bit of blurring and a custom Curves treatment to darken the lightest parts and lighten the rest (all in the upper half of the background) plus some added contrast on the robin makes a difference.

    Good point re the lack of contrast. Will work on that. See if this is any better.

    Robins seem to stay around here all year. Nevertheless, they remain a symbol of spring. You got a nice close-up of this one. I think your second post is an improvement., allowing the Robin to stand out. You might blur the top bg a bit.

    Toning down the greens in the background made a big difference, Hazel. Not only is there less distraction but it gives a feeling of depth.
