    Black Pacific Duck - Anas-superciliosa

    These ducks are seen locally in pairs or small flocks.

    In ACR - Exposure to the left, Highlights -100, Shadows to the right. Clarity and Vibrance added. No Adjustment brush.
    In PSCS6 - HSL Layer adjustment, Curves adjustment layer on bird, Cloned out duck (his reflection is still there ), RHS, NR and blur on BG. A bit of dodge and burn. Cropped and smart sharpened for posting.

    Canon 5D2
    Sigma 150-600mm @ 600mm
    ISO 500
    1/400 sec @ f6.3
    Evaluative metering
    Tripod

    Excellent! No nits from me! I don't know the duck's color but this looks like a very natural brown. Nice composition and pose. The slight overexposure then bringing it down in post looks like it worked well here, with no blown whites. Shooting specs look excellent. I suspect with the slight overexposure and low ISO you are seeing very little noise in the darks.

    How very nice Glennie, I really like the swell head slant you captured here. The exposure is smack on and overall just a pleasing image of a good looking duck! well done.

    Beautiful focus, composition, and exposure. So. What else is there? You've left me with nothing to write except for congratulations for producing a top level image.

    I'm wowed by the success you had removing the bird at the top of the frame. What bird? Where did it go? Magic.

    Diane - As always! Thank you. When it works, it works. Certainly the overexposure thing is sinking in. There was hardly any noise in this image at all.
