From Asa Wright Nature Center in Trinidad, 3 weeks ago. Handsome bird of the tropical forest, very similar to the Violaceous Trogon but with a pale blue eye-ring. Image of the female to follow in a day or two. In my limited experience, Trogons almost always seem to be at a steeper angle than I would like.

Very nice details Bill and quite an array of colors! I like the wispy feathers under the chin and you have a pleasing bg. always exciting to find the trogons and i agree, they always seem to be sitting too high!
I've been away from the forum for about 6 months....and it is images like this that I really miss seeing! Ann and Grace have captured my comments well. Really a splendid image!
