    Another image from Rietvlei, a male Stone Chat captured in low evening light perched on dry vegetation next to the road. Canon 1DIV, EF300 IS II + 2xTCIII, 1/250, f5.6, ISO 250, beanbag rest from car window. DPP4 / CS6, comments welcome.

    Good shot you have detail in the dark and pale plumage, I like the ghostly image of the umbellifer in the background.
    I think the contrast is a little high, if you lower it by 1 in DPP I think it will make all the difference, you will see that little more in the darks.

    Lovely shot in beautiful light, with good pose, comp and background. I wouldn't have thought of it, but Jonathan's suggestion to lower the contrast might be worth a try.

    Nice pose and eye contact. The background is nice but a little too bright IMO.

    Thanks for mentioning contrast! This image's contrast was already lowered in DPP by 1 and with a reverse S curve in PS. Using a round of unsharp masking may have boosted it back again.
