    From Boynton Beach Florida, morning shot.
    I work this subject very patiently, until we move close to each other that I reached the minimum focus distance of my lens. I am sure that the bird was not under any stress, because at one point I took a short nap and I have to wait several minutes until he wake up.

    40D, 500mm f/4
    1/1600, F7.1, ISO 400

    Raul,

    Bird and BG look good. I might suggest that a vertical crop would be better here as the inclusion of all the BG does not add to the image. In this case, going a bit lower would have gotten the yellow blobs out of the BG right at the perch - perhaps out of the frame. IF going vertical, you could clone out the remaining yellow.
