    Took this image on Chincoteague Island in 2014. C&C welcome.

    D700, Nikon 500mm + 1.4 TC, 1/250s, f 5.6, ISO 1250, Braced on car window frame.

    Added catch light.

    I like this. The comp and placement of the bird in the frame is very nice.
    A crop from the bottom to the first f in your name might be an option as well
    Nice preening pose.
    I am of 2 minds about the grass intersecting the perch. I am OK with it but could see a version with the grass cloned out.
    I would also smooth out or tone down the white circular area in the BG just in front of the bird's head.
    I would sharpen the bird a little bit more ( but maybe it is my eyes today (I was on call last night!)

    Nice preening pose. Good suggestions from Gail, although I'm OK with the crop as presented. This has a nice painterly feeling to it.
