I really like the sense of movement that you captured in this frame.
Head is nice and sharp and you have a nice amount of blurring in the wings.
I am not crazy about the blue part of the water and I would crop up from the bottom to get rid of the blue water and partial reflection.
This would create a nice tight pano especially if you have a bit mote room at the RHS.

Great take-off shot. I like the comp in general, but would crop at least some of the blue from the bottom.

Great Capture Jonathan. Timing very good. Perhaps a higher shutter speed might have sharpened the legs a little more. I would suggest a crop from the bottom to just below the reflection of the legs.

lovely dynamic pose which is emphasized by the water drops, great details in the blacks and just the right amount of motion blur. I am wondering was the nictitating membrane closed ? it seems like the eye is a bit dull compared to the bill. I'd keep the 3:2 aspect ratio but just crop a bit from the bottom

    well done

Thanks for the feedback everyone, I will trim off some of the blue if I use the image in future.
