This image is from two weeks ago in Tobago. The Motmot lives in tunnels in walls and with this particular one observed him arriving and departing at about ten minute intervals. This gave us time to set up and concentrate on the entrance. Little did we know that his last arrival would keep us waiting 2 1/2 hours before he exited. This was the second frame of a burst of four. C&C welcome.

A great reward for your time and patience. The head and beak are lovely and sharp, the legs are just a tiny bit soft in comparison. Lovely colours. Well done.
What an arrow! Super patience by you, and you got well rewarded. I would have preferred the head and body a tad sharper (like the tail) but the image still works for me. I like the vegetation top right.
Hi Geoff, very well timed for the exit take off, and Im amazed at the streamlined flight pose. This species certainly has a variety of colours. Your focus point was on the entrance, thus the tail being sharper than the head.
Amazing that you were able to capture this guy's exit. After an exceedingly long wait, he poked his head out briefly, and then was out like a shot. Well done!
