    Nice freeing pose and eye contact, John. Plumage detail looks a bit smeared ?from noise reduction software. Not clear on the -1 EV as seems quite evenly lit - was it to save the highlights on the chest? Lovely plumage patterns and texture with the ruffled feathers.

    Love the preening post and eye contact. You and Keith are killing me with your snipe in the open, here they are very secretive buried in vegetation. Thank you for sharing, John.

    Thanks all.
    Tony- Usually have the ev down for safety on the white. Regarding the NR I am sure it was to the BG only with a layer.. Maybe bird movement.
    Getting them out in the open is just by finding a location and sitting in a hide- sometimes for a lot of hours.

    Awesome preening pose and I like the vertical lines (crop, beak) and the horizontal feathers in the image. Nice eye contact too.
