I watched this bird for quite a while and he never did manage to get that feather to lie down.

    Nice one David.
Love the eye contact. Grand subdues colours and reflection nice and blurred . Off to Slimbridge in the morning so might get one or two of these !

    Magnificent portrait.
Beautiful preening pose captured. Absolutely superb colors, great details and nice composition.
I like the water ripples around him.

Lovely colours on the head, David. Pity about the worn feathers on the back. Wonder if a lower shooting position was possible? Love that intense red eye.

The head looks so good it keeps your eye away from that stray feather, not that it is much of a problem for me,nice work David.

Lovely, David, what a beautiful duck. A bird I am not familiar with, thank you for sharing.

I like the pose, exposure, red eye, composition and I don't have a problem with the stray feather. Very well done David.

Great bird, colors, pose. Love the eye, and the bit of green sheen on the tail. My personal preference would have been for a sliver less room on the left, sliver more on the right.
