    I captured this image recently at Ft. Desoto County Park in Pinellas County, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D7000
    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED shot at 400mm (600mm FFE)
    1/1600 F/5.6 Matrix Metering 0 EV ISO 500 AWB, camera supported by a monopod
    Post processed in Lightroom 6 and Photoshop Elements 10, darkened the background using a tone curve in Lightroom
    Cropped for composition and presentation

    A lovely preening shot, Joe. Nice exposure, good pose. The bird stands out nicely against the dark bg. I might have played with an off-center comp, but it works well as posted.

    Like the very well exposed white, the preening pose. I'd try a vertical composition as well.

    You did a great job on your whites and I love the black BG. Wish for a different composition, whether horizontal or vertical and would have preferred the eye more visible/open.

    Magnificent image. Very nice preening pose with dark backdrop. i like the vertical crop.
