I'm not usually a fan of intense color, but it sure works here. The brighter reds at the top, especially contrasted with the lighter blues, give a nice feeling of depth. The silhouetted trees at the bottom ground the image very well, and it's good to see the sun just peeping up at the corner.
Good sunrises and sunsets versus the sounds of birds and frogs . . . It'd be hard to make a choice.

Truly a painting! I might clean up the LR corner a bit.
This reminds me of a wonderful image a friend shot some years ago -- she was doing the picture-a-day thing and it was pouring down rain. She drove to a lovely country lane and shot a picture through the windshield with the rain creating this sort of brush-stroke distortion.

Very Turneresque with the vivid red sky. I like the foreground which gives a nice base to the image. There is a small area of what looks like yellow lights in the bottom right hand corner which I would probably crop out. I am not familiar with the filters you have used to produce the image but you have used them very skillfully to create a wonderful image.

Superb Nancy!! Love the colors and the paint effect looks great! I don't have a view from my house either, but the lock and dam is only about 2 miles away and I can go there IF I go look out the front door to see if it looks like a good prospect before it's too late. More time than not I rush out there only to have it fizzle out.

Very nice treatment. Brilliant red!! I like the bit of blue. As others have written, the black silhouette grounds the image. The paint brush strokes make it especially nice.

Beautiful, dramatic colors, Nancy. And I love the bit of Fractalius. I bet you miss those views

Thank you all! That little bit of yellow in the lower right is part of the sunrise. Sunrises and sunsets are something to miss, months and months of wind and snow are not! The software I used is Fractalius and Topaz Impression. You can goggle to see more about them.
