The least terns are nesting, no chicks yet but they feed the partner sitting on the eggs. This is one of the food deliveries. It's been hot and hazy, hence the BG.

you've done it now...this is saweeeeet Axel.
The tonality is right on and the light on the bill and fish is a bonus.
    Sharpening looks perfect....not overdone

    Hi Axel,

This is very nice. I wish the light was coming from the front of the bird lighten the head more and not the tail. Not an east capture but I like it as it is.

I've been outside trying to do handheld flight of barn swallows at 700mm this afternoon. I wish I could get a photo this pretty!

Real nice image. An eye from the fish would have put this over the top.

Sweet Photograph and a excellent pose.

I notice some artifacts one just above the bill where the nostril is and another where the far wing converges with the body

there is also a halo of noise surrounding the bird

Can someone tell me what an artifact is? I don't see what john is talking about. I don't see the "noise halo" either. I do know what noise is.
    Very well captured photo.

Artifacts are usually the result of jpeg compression but not always they can also be a resuly of chromatic aberations of the lens
