Beautiful Joe. The BG compliments the beak nicely and the colours are lovely. Sharp and detailed in the feathers. I've been looking hard, and, no nits to pick~!
Excellent preening pose, nice color harmony between bird and bg. Well exposed.
A little more DOF would have been nice. Looks like you had room to trade off a bit of shutter speed for a smaller aperture. The lens would also perform a bit better when not wide open at 400mm.
Nice one, Joe. You've cornered the market on this species. I'll have to get to Circle Bar B one of these days. Great theme shot; no nits. I've also noticed that with the 80-400 the results are better if I remember to back off just a hair from full 400 and shoot at 7.1, light permitting.

Randy, thank you for coming back and asking your question. I did do work in that area smoothing out the brown out of focus vegetation. I think what you see must have been a inattentive to details masking of the bird. I edited and fixed it. Thanks again for another set of eyes.
