    Taken the other day on a beautiful morning here in the UK,cannon 500mm IS,L,F4,1/4EXT,700MM,FL,5D MK111,tripod,on my knees,iso500,1/1600S,F6.3,crop,sharpened for web,touch of SH.

    Nice clean in-habitat shot. Very interesting to compare with its African counterpart. Looks like an immature male? Thanks for sharing.

    Feather detail and colours are exceptional on this Chris, I should try to collect the light you had and bottle it.You have shown us some excellent examples of Stonechat shots this is up with the best imho.

    So when was that beautiful morning I must have missed it! Super shot I like the exposure and details in all plumage, the background is great and I really like the reeds, you did well with the two longer ones going at at the top, yes it works for me lovely image.

    Hello,
    a really clean and very nice picture. I like the stonechats very much.. now it is here the beginning of their returning from africa and southern europe back to the colder north.

    Thanks Eric for looking and comments,Stonechats don't leave here in the North west of UK,they stay all year round.thanks again.
