Again, welcome to BPN.

Fits the theme well, with the raised feathers and pose. Great that you can see a bit of the eye, as that is always helpful, and not always easy with a preening pose.

I like the off center composition, but feel it is just a bit tight top, bottom and left. Yes, his neck is bent back into the frame, which helps, but still would prefer just a bit more room as indicated.

The blue in the background harmonizes with the birds tones, but I could see toning down the luminosity just a sliver, as my eye tends to be drawn by the brightness.

Looking forward to more of your images. I am sure others will add their thoughts and comments.

Great detail in this image, especially on the back feathers and perch. The back ground looks a tiny bit noisy on my screen, providing the ISO data may help to explain this. Eye contact will definitely lift this image even more.

Well exposed, and sharp. I like the feathers being raised by the bill, and I also like the small one falling off at left. Pointing your lens about a half inch to your left would have strengthen the composition IMO. I also wish the eye was a little bit more visible - perhaps lightening it would help with that. Highly enjoyable image, keep them coming, and please do not hesitate critique others' works too...all part of the fun.

Sharp with a good exposure. For me, it is way too tight all around. And a nice look at the yellow eye would have been a plus. a
