    Very nicely caught I like the exposure, the colours are excellent.
    The only very slight reservation I have is that the bill seems to be just out of focus towards the tip, it is so minimal I wonder if a broad USM might just do the trick.

    Allen:

    Nice display of the different feather colors and textures. The soft light helped. Well exposed.

    Strikes me as just a bit large in the frame.

    Classic preening pose has the head parallel to the sensor, but you have nice view of the eye, and enough dof to keep things in focus, so effective for me.

    Yes to smaller in the frame, but a cool pose captured of this very interesting bird.

    I like the crossed wing primaries and overall colours. I too find the subject large in the frame. Do you have a image in the series where the head is not angling away?
