    Hi Guys,

After all that High-Key violence i posted recently i'd thought it was time for some colour again..
So...here's a photograph of two female Superb-fairy Wrens i took during my recent trip to Australia.

    Greetings,

Very cool to have both in the frame and in focus. I like the BG and the side light works well. I wish the perch would go through the frame and am interested what other people think about it.

I like this image very much! Would say the perch ending in the image, not going through it is better for me.

aahhh, superb fairy wrens...my first love. truly spectacular birds. beautiful and interesting in every way.
i very much like this photo and only wish that there was a male to join them. i think if you cropped it so that the perch went right through the frame the bird on the left might not have enough room to breathe. lovely background
i might add that two females together doesn't happen often unless one is a juvenile so perhaps your photo includes a juvenile male?

A very fine image. I wish the perch extended through the frame. The light angle looks like it could have been a bit more direct too.

Jeroen this is a beautiful image and to get two in focus on a lovely diagonal perch is awesome. I too wish the perch went through the frame but would not jeporadize this imge by moving the camera down as you would lose the bird to the left. So I like it very much as posted. Wonderful work !

This is a really nice image. These little birds are fast movers and to get two in the frame is very nice. I especially like how one is calling. The background compliments them well too. You sure got some nice images on your trip down under. :)

Nice BG with just enough evidence of grass blades or whatever to give it texture without being distracting.
I have no preference on the perch going through the frame or not.

Apart from the well mentioned perch issue this is a fine image. A couple of the highlights could be backed off a smidge would be my only nit.

    Cheers Mike

I like the interaction here Jeroen! BG colour is sweet. I agree about the branch going out of the frame. Just grab your browser and drag it over to the left to cut off the branch and you can see it.

Lovely work on one of my favourite species. Getting two wrens interacting one the same plane is a real bonus and the lovely BG sets the subjects off just beautifully. Well done!
