I photographed this sunset from the coast of Newfoundland at a lighthouse, a few years ago. The clouds obscured the horizon line merging sky and water in blues and oranges. The border effect is adapted from smart photo editor.

Nancy, this is so cool! Very abstract and delicious. I love the verticals on the bottom and the horizontals on the top. And the colors and border up top are great. This would look great with just the top also

Very nice. I agree with Cheryl about the verticals and horizontals, and I think they're even more effective because the sunset is so abstract. The border -- in addition to working well with the rest of the image -- makes a good stopper for the horizontals (not that I'd allow my eyes to leave the image because of them).

Very nice! Might be interesting to see the fence just a little brighter. Love the border!

Thank you all! Diane, I did play around with the brightness of the fence and decided I wanted it to merge more than stand out like a frame. But I can see it brighter as a strong foreground to view the abstract sunset.

I love the top 3/4 of this image. Gorgeous colors--a semi-abstract sunset. The border works really well and is especially interesting as it is different from the usual. The bottom 1/4 doesn't work for me. I like the shapes, but don't like how washed out the fence looks compared to the glorious, bright colors above. I don't know what the solution would be. But, that is only my subjective opinion.

Thank you Anita, and everyone else. The fence was my biggest concern and I played with it several ways. Good to always hear how others see various elements in the image. That's what we are all about!
