    For my 1st post I thought I would share this image of a Shelduck.

    1D MKIV
    500f4 + 1.4TC
    ISO 250
    1/1600 @ f/6.3

    Excellent first post

    I like the topside view in soft light and the water BG. A handsome bird with sharp details and an attractive HA. Normally I wouldn't shoot at ISO 250. You can easily push to MKIV to higher ISO and gain more shutter speed. Here you didn't need faster but in general it's a better approach

    Welcome to the forum Alan this is a heck of a good start! The duck is in a super pose and the light is beautiful, the details are excellent, I am also looking forward to seeing more of your images.

    Great clean detailed image Alan, exposure looks spot on and you did very well with that shutter speed.
