I think it is a lovely shot, well focused and a natural setting with beautiful colours.

The "bird-on-a-stick" crowd may not like this but that's too bad as this a lovely in-habitat shot. Thanks for sharing.

    Chris:

Well, I like it to! The relatively clean view of the head, with soft bg, the overall color harmony, all excellent.

I could see removing a single stem, the one immediately behind his head on the left.

    Cheers

About the nicest Stonechat shot I,ve seen. Very natural. Like the way it has grabbed several stems to get a grip.
    Good stuff

Superb! I'm a "bird on a stick" kinda guy but this is really a beautiful piece of work. The feet clutching all those strands of grass is a very cool detail!! Well done on all counts, you should be proud of this one.

Not easy to get an image in habitat like this to work well, and it works real well!! The clutched feet, the smooth BG and the nicely surrounded grasses look great, not to mention the sweet details. Well done Chris

I love the reeds, the wonderful habitat, the subject high-in-the-frame image design, the feet on the reeds, the soft sidelight, and the sweet distant BKGR. I would however pull the curve up as it looks overall a bit too dark. All in all, a very nice one. a

Hi Chris, that is a 'grumpy' stare. I like the light and colours, and great to see the surrounding enviroment.
