Just be patient and you'll get that cool pose. In the mean time, you're nailing your exposure and getting great sharpness! Congrats!

Agree with Doug - cool pose, exposure and sharpness right on.

Around here, Red-winged males have all but stopped flashing their epaulets. They have established their territories and are on guard much more. Another challenge for next year. :-)

I really like this....You hit the pose, focus and BG very well. Is this more of your Backyard Art? All I usually ever get is sparrows or finch....:(

Yep another one for next year, darn

Bill this is at the wetlands. We did have a couple show up this year during a late snow. The Cedar Wax-wing are here in fill force but up in the top of the big locus trees..Don't do me much good there, quite frustrating

    Thanks folks

Hi Nonda love the pose with the raised tail !!! Would only clean the blade of grass from the foot !!! Can also go with a brush and smooth out the lighter band running through its head.

btw for smoothing I'm lazy and use PhotKit Sharpener Basically is or sharpening but does lot of other things. One is smoothing. The set of smoothing brushes will smooth the bg in a pleasing way. Worth investigating !!!!

    Hi Nonda,
I like your composition, exposure is good and the details are there in the blacks. I agree with Mr. Al on removing the blade of grass from the foot...

I just knew that grass bit would come up, I guess I've now been properly 'guilted' into removing it

:p to you to Mr H
