    Default Precision flying

Reviewing some old files i found this one which i thought i would work on. it never ceases to amaze me how close to the water Corys shearwaters can fly without crash diving

Taken from my boat on October 2013

    D800e
    300 f4 AFS with 1.7x TC
    f7.1
    1/3200
    ISO 640

Usual processing, levels and slight darkening of water. Selective sharpening on subject. Head was a bit soft so did an extra round of sharpening there.

Lightened a dark area on the top wing to bring out more feather details

    Thanks for viewing

Hi Shane, I like the banking angle showing off the wingspan, together with the feather detail. I also like the deep blue colour of the water and the swells.

Agree with Stu. Water colour different and enhances the shot. Bird sharp enough for me,
    Good stuff

sharp and I like the nice light with top side details, but they bird had already passed you. would be ideal to get him banking angled slightly towards you or parallel to the back of the camera.

Thanks Arash. They should be arriving again in the next month so will try and get a better version of this one

Hoping to get one with the wingtip actually skimming with waters surface

Thanks everyone for your comments. Shooting from my boat in rough water has its challenges and hoping to improve this year
