    Default Belted Kingfisher

I am not usually big on bird small in the frame but couldn't resist posting this KF frame. I chose a wide composition to show the habitat of this handsome KF

This composition with the bird centered works very well for me. Tack sharp and the foliage framing the bird allows us to enjoy its habitat

She stands out well against the dark background, and I like the open beak. I normally wouldn't have liked the centered position, but the foliage is such an important part of this small-in-frame image that the comp makes perfect sense here.

Cool image, Arash. I like the way the KF pops off of the smooth oof bg and the way the branches frame this beautiful female.

Arash it all works very well for me, as already mentioned the foliage really does frame the bird which looks very good against that dark bg.

I like the composition, the image is noise free and the details are apparent in the subject. The slightly agape bill adds to the presentation too.

    Arash:

Very nice handling of this small in frame composition, and as others have mentioned, the framing from the foliage allows the central placement to work well in this case. She really seems to be taking center stage!

Processing looks very good, like the subtle lighting and the fact that there is just enough detail in the far background to give it some depth.

    Cheers

Nice to see something different for your portfolio. The KFr is framed by the foliage perfectly and the looking up pose looks great. Nice shot!
