I was just having a bit of "high" ISO fun on a cloudy day. ISO 3200 is pretty much uncharted territory for me, therefore this newfound luxury is getting me all revved up! Between that and the much improved AF this 7DII has so far proven to be a wise upgrade to my old trust 7D classic.

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/2000s., f/5.6, ISO 3200, natural light, handheld, canvas doubled at right of wingtip then re-cropped at left, darkened both pupils. Duck lured in with food.

I like the incoming angelic pose, IQ, details, exposure and composition. Excellent high ISO image Dan!

Fantastic pose, great IQ. Looks like the 7DII is very capable with the high ISO in good hands. Well done.

Excellent incoming shot, Daniel. I'm intrigued by the option of using high ISO with 7D II.
Did you have to use strong noise reduction?

    Thanks guys.

Karl, amazingly I did not run any NR for this web-sized image. Surely due to the combination of the white BG, high-detail subject, and virtually FF comp. I would need to run some NR for larger posting, but I am still very, very happy with the performance so far.

What a great look at an often overlooked bird. Fantastic job on the exposure and a fun pose captured.

love the dynamic pose and the symmetric wing position Dan! I might be tempted to sharpen the head just a tad more. love the feet and the water drops too
