This is another from my trip to Cairngorm at the weekend. I was struggling for decent light, and these wee guys are so fast.

I like the raised crest, lichens on perch, clean BG and details. I see some noise creeping in on the bird. Nice image Will.

Lovely bird on a fancy looking perch. Excellent shot, Will.

    Hi William,
Love the crest and the perch. Also see some noise on the bottom of bird. I'm sure they are tough to catch still like our small birds over here.

This is very nice Will, it's good that you got a nice Bg for it to sit on, wish my eyes where good enough to see the noise.

Lovely shot Will, sorry I have to agree about the noise - was the image underexposed or was it a large crop? I ask because I would not have expected quite to much to be evident.

Thanks for that Jon. Pretty large crop and very poor light caused the noise, I reckon.

Will not trying to teach you to suck eggs but in these conditions I would deliberately overexpose in order to minimise noise

Hi Jon, I understand what you are saying, but I was struggling with the shutter speed I was using, and I didn't want to raise the ISO any higher
