Testing out my new Olympus OM-D E-M5ii on an evening walk. The moon was caught in the transmission towers. The second version was processed in Topaz Textures, which I'm just learning to use.

The photograph was nicely done, and I like both versions of the image although they're quite different. The texture softens the stark graphic look of the version on the left. It also adds some tonal variability to the sky and the structural members of the tower. It's interesting to see both versions.
Hmmm...I (think) I like the sharper graphic lines & purer colors of the left image better. Just for fun, I would consider flipping the right image so the 2 images mirror each other and the lines of the tower match. I have played just a bit with Topaz Textures but have not really sorted it out into a workflow. Please share any suggestions you discover. BTW, very interesting composition where you placed the moon and the tower structure lines.
Thanks for comments, Nancy and Dennis. This was a casual photo, not one I was taking seriously, but rather done for fun. I flipped the right image as suggested. I like it better.
Re. Topaz Textures, I found the video by Mark Johnson helpful. http://blog.topazlabs.com/topaz-texture-effects-tour/
yes, the second gives more structure and balance.
The flip worked.
Thank you, Hazel and Gary.
Hi, Anita, I'm dying to know how you like the Oly! I like the left image better. The halo around the moon and in the next panel to its right are distracting to me in the Topaz Texture image. Have you tried macro with the Oly yet?![]()

Nicely captured Anita! I like the composition simple graphic look. I would like to see you try layering the two images and maybe use color mode on the blue one and see what happens as I prefer that color but like the effects of the lighter ones best.
