    A small bird with a big beak, this one gave a nice pose (though on a large perch) at the back-waters in Kerala, India. Bird is a bit entered but couldn't think of a better comp.

    Agree it's a big perch Sanjeev but that's where it wanted to perch, it's a great looking bird that draws your eye well away from the perch. Have seen these birds in Goa and must say that you have got the colours spot on, and also nice sharp feather detail.

    interesting and such a colorful kingfisher. Colors are terrific and the BG swell, fine job.

    Great bird and nice BG. I like the profile pose. The perch is indeed big but an alternative comp to minimize it, and un-centre the bird, would be to crop from below and left such as I've done here.
