    Shot taken the other day,a beautiful morning for a change here in the UK,cannon500mm IS,L,F4,5D MK111,1/4EXT,700MM FL,tripod,crop,sharpened,touch SH,iso800,F5.6,1/3200S.

    Smashing bit of sunlight you have captured here Chris, nice relaxed bird with lots of detail all on a nice bg,very well done with this.

    Very nice Chris. Love the colours in the bird and BG and grasses. The grasses seem to anchor it all together.

    Good shot Chris, I like the pose and the setting. I appreciate very directional light but I would suggest at the raw stage decreasing contrast by 1 if you use DPP I would also lower the highlights a tad and lift the shadows, if you already did that I would lift the shadows a little more in Photoshop and decrease the brightest highlights a little.

    Chris:

    I like the colors, composition, pose,bg.

    The details on the breast look a bit coarse to me, perhaps a bit more sharpening. I do agree with Jon about lightening the shadows a bit, as some of the blacks under the bill are blocked.

    Excellent image in pleasant lights. Very nice pose. Beautiful diagonal perch and environment.
