The Coots are beginning to get a bit excited and taking to the air. They must feel spring is in the air.

Excellent!- love the back foot. I,ve spent more time in hides shooing these off when I,ve been after other stuff. They certainly go at it in the spring. Nice bit of detail in the head you got too.

Fab image David, great fun photographing them at this time of the year . I like the flight/jump pose and those feet, especially the trailing foot with water splash.

    Nice one

Wonderfull image, David. Love the flight/running position, nice wing angle, and slight head turn. Excellent light on the bird.

Excellent shot, David! I have never seen this bird actually spreading their wings so this is such a treat. And the pose is just awesome. Thanks for sharing!

You caught him in perfect stride and I like the look at the under part of the rear foot. Nice exposure too. Well done

Thanks to all for your kind comments. Yes Jonathan, I was chuffed to get this shot because they give no indication of what is about to happen, one minute they are just sitting there and then they are off like a bat out of ****.
