Default Northern Pintail: Just Passing Through

From Brigantine several winters ago. This is the 7th frame in a 9-frame sequence of this handsome drake as he flew across the salt marsh. It was sheer luck that he positioned himself in the strip of water in this frame. I think the Northern Pintail is the most elegant of waterfowl, as his down-wing, stretched out flight position illustrates. Cropped some from right and stretched the canvas a bit on the left, to give him some flying room.

What a terrific choice for the theme, and how awesome that the duck flew through the spot with the water behind it. Lovely image and I really enjoy the color palette.

Beautiful theme image, Bill. Elegant is a good word for that duck, and the water is a great element. Well done and a pleasure to view.

Good one, Bill. Love the full stretch, wings down, and position in the frame. Beautiful complimentary tones surrounding this beauty.

Perfect frame for the theme Bill. The colors, details and comp look great. I agree that the Sprig (Pintail) is the most elegant of all the duck species. I have been hunting ducks with my falcons for over 25 years and a Sprig (Pintail) is the most awesome flier and the most challenging of all the duck species also. Love it!
