    Default Barn owl

I was totally focused on getting shots of the Barn owl today ,a gamble on were to set up as I knew I would have to be there most of the day, however the Bird was successful at first light in finding prey so I didn't hold out much hope of seeing the bird for a while ,however when he did call out I got lucky as came in range for the 400mm 5.6 (for a change ) one of many from the day but one of my favourite's canon 1dmkiv 400mm 5.6 at 5.6 1/2500 sec iso 800 +1/3 ev Name: Barn-owl-Febuary-13th-2016-(1-of-1)-2.jpg

    Dennis:

Your patience was rewarded, very nice shot of this handsome bird. Nicely exposed, with good angle in frame.

The background looks just a bit busy, the bokeh a bit harsh. Might consider running a light gaussian blur on it to soften it just a bit.

    Cheers

Nice light and flight position. Well composed. I've been guilty of overdoing Gaussian blur on occasion, but I think this is a case for a judicious use of it.

A good detailed capture. The background looks fine to me for what the background is.

Hi Dennis, great capture of this barn owl in golden light. Perfect exposure. I'd be tempted to crop away a sliver at the bottom. Loi
