Not a snowy owl, but a winter owl
Helo,
i have taken this picture three weeks ago,
it was very could and the dark foggy clouds comes from the north sea coast .
that is the background here. the plants were iced , after this day my noose and my hands (with gloves on) too.
It was my first near "meeting" with the short-eared owl, and from that time, i become addicted.
i was forced to lighten up the picture about more than 1 stop, but i think its still ok.
I'm curious about your comments.
Thank you for watching also !

Hi Eric,
iced hands? I couldn't care less
the result is important. For me this is your best shot!

Beautiful image. Love the flight pose and the 'coldness' about this image. Nice work.

This is really quite stunning, It captured the cold feel of winter as well as any bird photo I have seen. Very nice.

Really nice image, great pose and detail in the bird, the icy branches in the bg give this a wonderful wintery feel.

I've viewed this a few times Eric and like it more each time. Great winter look to the shot and the subject itself shows a lovely action pose.

Despite minimal elements shown this has excellent wintry feel, as already pointed out. If you have a bit more room at right I'd add it. Perhaps a bit more warmth, on the subject only, would work. Nicely done.

Love the light owl against the dark sky with the hints of winter in the BG. I personally wouldn't warm it up b/c I would want it to remain the cold/blue feel.
